Best DL vs OL Matchups of Week 2 for IDP Fantasy Football
Full Chart. Also includes top DB matchups.
This chart shows which defensive lines have the advantage over the opposing offensive line on the other side.
The following chart shows which defensive lines will have the best chances of securing sacks by including information about expected opportunity. The “Total DL Score” uses projected total as a measure of expected passing plays—as higher totals are usually either a result of pass-heavy games or (in the case of closely-matched games) a driving factor of pass-heavy games
.
Using the same logic, I created the “Total DB Score.” I caution that mathematically projecting the output of defensive backs is more difficult than doing it for defensive linemen. That is because DB scoring is correlated with multiple contradictory factors on offense. Bad QB play on the other side could cause more interceptions, but quality QB play from the offense could cause more downfield completions and more tackles for DBs. In the end, I based the Total DB Score equation on the skill level of the defensive team’s DB unit and the projected total. It is a very rough measure and should be taken with a tad more grains of salt than the Total DL Score. Here are the leaders:
Of these matchups, I like the Jets DBs vs the Cowboys, the Cowboys safeties (if the Jets run the ball a lot because Zach Wilson is the Jets’ QB, the safeties will have to clean up after Breece Hall beats the Cowboys LBs), and the Seahawks vs the Lions.
